The first thing you’ll need to do is plan a suitable day. In fall and winter, there’s an increased chance of rain and snow. You will want to pick the best day available to you to make your task as easy and as safe as possible.
Next, you’ll need to make sure you’re taking the necessary extra safety precautions. If it’s icy or snowy, your roof will be more slippery. Counteract this by wearing winter work boots with extra grip and roof-fall protection equipment.
Any snow and ice should be removed completely from the roof before you begin any work. This might take time, but it’s an essential step toward ensuring your safety.
You’ll need to make sure your work is methodical in cold weather. Don’t try to rush the work just to get out of the cold. This increases the risk of accidents or injuries even further.
